Frequently Asked Questions
- How does the barcode scan work?
- Point your camera at any pet food barcode. KibbleCare reads the product identifier and looks up its ingredient list, then scores each ingredient for safety based on published veterinary research.
- What if my product is not found?
- You can enter the ingredients manually. Tap the keyboard icon on the scan screen and paste or type the ingredient list from the bag.
- What is the Freshwater Redneck deal?
- A flat one-time payment of $2 unlocks lifetime Premium access. It is a community deal for folks who found us through our social channels. The offer is available on the Plans screen inside the app.
- How do I cancel my subscription?
- Open the App Store on your iPhone, tap your profile icon, then Subscriptions, and select KibbleCare. You can cancel or manage your plan there at any time.
- Does KibbleCare share my pet's data?
- No. Pet profiles are stored locally on your device only. Scan queries are sent to our server to retrieve ingredient data but are not linked to your identity and are not retained. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
- What do the safety scores mean?
- Scores run from 0 to 100. Above 75 is generally considered a good choice. Below 50 means the formula contains ingredients flagged by veterinary nutrition literature as harmful or unnecessary. The score is a guide, not a substitute for your vet's advice.
- Why does the camera not work?
- KibbleCare needs camera permission to scan barcodes. Go to Settings on your iPhone, scroll to KibbleCare, and make sure Camera access is turned on.
